Soup Sisters. An idea that's been floating around in my brain for the past 6+ months. A business idea, but also just a way of living. A way of creating a life with the people that feel like home to you. To have community and support throughout this wild and precious life that we graciously get to experience together. What an honor it is to grow older and to feel the full range of human emotions. Sometimes it feels like all we really have is each other. And to me, that's enough.

Born out of a concept from Tracee Ellis Ross, she explains "I have a theory that souls are made in bunches. When the souls are cooked, they get sprinkled all throughout time. You don't know when or how or what is going to bring you to another soup sister, but you meet someone and you're like "oh we're from the same soup." We have the same map. We have the same ingredients. There's a connection beyond the circumstances of our lives."

My dream for Soup Sisters is to be an alcohol-free community project to bring people together. There will be dinner parties hosted in someone’s home where memories, laughter, connection, and joy will be shared. For people who identify as female, you can sign up to host or be a guest. Guests will know the date and time, and ideally you won't know anyone else attending. The location will be provided a few days before the event along with the menu, all you do is show up, be yourself and form connections. This is to push you out of your comfort zone. To see what can happen when we meet folks not in our regular circles. I want Soup Sisters to be for all ages. Some of my best friendships are with woman who are well beyond me in age, but most importantly in wisdom. I want all of us to be able to learn from each other and do this life together.
